Audience exposure level - Level 2: Sometimes use AI

Most people use ChatGPT to answer questions. The real breakthrough comes when you use it to find answers to questions you’re not yet thinking to ask.

This session explores how to turn ChatGPT into a strategic mirror — a partner for reflection that surfaces blind spots, forgotten commitments, unspoken tensions, and high-impact opportunities hiding in plain sight.

Through live demonstrations and guided frameworks, participants learn to use prompt design, project referencing, and “thinking modes” to interrogate their own assumptions, map the unseen, and reveal the unknown unknowns shaping their decisions.

This is ChatGPT for insight generation and strategic self-awareness — not automation, but reflection at scale.

Objectives/Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand ChatGPT as a cognitive mirror — a tool for surfacing implicit assumptions and gaps in perspective.
  2. Use structured prompts like “What am I missing?” and “Imagine this failed — why?” to reveal blind spots in thinking.
  3. Apply the “Three Lenses of Strategic Reflection” — diagnostic, counterfactual, and emergent — to guide deeper analysis.
  4. Leverage ChatGPT projects and memory to build ongoing reflective workflows that accumulate insight over time.
  5. Perform “Strategic A/B Reasoning” — editing past prompts to fork alternative analytical paths and compare perspectives.
  6. Adopt prompt archetypes like “Pre-Mortem,” “Hidden Silences,” and “Nega Self” for advanced introspection.
  7. Differentiate between plausible and meaningful outputs, ensuring human judgment remains at the centre of evaluation.
  8. Recognize and mitigate model limitations, including truncation, overconfidence, and lack of quantitative reliability.
  9. Experiment with metaphor and narrative techniques (e.g., “Living Breathing Metaphor”) to illuminate systems thinking.
  10. Develop a repeatable process for using ChatGPT as a mirror for strategic clarity, creative reframing, and organisational insight.
