Copilot Discovery sessions for professional services staff | AI Competency Centre

Copilot Discovery sessions

From Wednesday 25 March until the end of May 2026, the Digital Governance Unit (DGU) is partnering with Microsoft to offer fortnightly Copilot Discovery Drop-ins at the Virtual Reality (VR) Lab.

These sessions are open to everyone in professional services on a drop-in basis. You are encouraged to bring your device (and your lunch if you like), along with any questions, challenges or ideas you would like to discuss with specialists from the Digital Innovation team in the DGU.

Get hands-on support and time to experiment, and meet colleagues from across the University who are getting to know Microsoft Copilot. No previous experience of Copilot or AI is necessary. These will be flexible, informal sessions. You can find out more about AI support for professional services staff on the DGU site (SSO required).

Please note, these sessions are run by the DGU (not the AI Competency Centre). Please direct any questions to Nandy Millan in the Digital Innovation team, at nandy.millan@digital.ox.ac.uk.

Look out for a new Copilot agent-building workshop, coming soon. In April, the AI in Professional Services Programme team will also be launching a Getting Started with Copilot course, also running on alternate Wednesdays.

Temporary, trial Copilot licences

The DGU has also secured 1,000 temporary, trial licences to help professional services staff explore Microsoft Copilot. The licences are valid for 3 months, until the end of May 2026. If you join one of the Copilot Discovery drop-ins at Banbury Road and would like to receive one to try out what you have learnt, please speak to a member of the team on the day or contact Kate Forbes at kate.forbes@digital.ox.ac.uk.
