Piloting Cloudforce nebulaONE® AI platform

The University is establishing a small pilot of the AI platform nebulaONE® which is run by Cloudforce, a Microsoft partner.

As part of its generative AI provision, the University of Oxford is linking up with Microsoft partner, Cloudforce, to pilot nebulaONE®, a new AI gateway service designed to facilitate enterprise and inclusive access to a range of advanced AI capabilities through a single platform. This pilot builds on the deployment of the nebulaONE® platform at Saïd Business School and adds to the repertoire of supported tools available to staff and students at Oxford, including ChatGPT Edu, Google Gemini, NotebookLM, and Microsoft Copilot Chat.

NebulaONE® is an enterprise platform that allows the creation of tailored AI agents that can be used both within and potentially beyond the University. It acts as a gateway to a wide range of large language models, including those from OpenAI and open-source models. It also offers the potential for staff to explore a variety of AI models via a single, enterprise environment hosted on the University’s private Microsoft Azure tenancy. Users can also build custom chatbots within nebulaONE® without requiring coding experience.

If you or members of your team are interested in exploring this tool, Expressions of Interest (EOI) can be submitted to the AI Competency Centre by 5pm on Friday 28 November, using this form. You may also submit an EOI on behalf of your whole team. In December, Cloudforce will start onboarding sessions for pilot teams to get them set up on the platform. The pilot period will then run until the end of this academic year.
