We use generative AI and automation to support the regular distribution of the University Cascade email briefing to our teams. This means we can replace manual processes, while retaining oversight and the ability to adjust content.
We use generative AI actions within Power Automate to replace manual processes like extracting specific items and classifying them against a list of our teams. Human approval steps allow us to check the resulting summaries, add comments, or amend as needed. When approved, the items are cascaded to relevant channels in our Professional Services MS Team. This helps with timely distribution of time-sensitive messages in a large, busy team.
The incorporation of a human-in-the-loop approach when using generative AI actions in Power Automate is essential. This content can be sensitive or business critical so there needs to be human judgement applied. We also ensure original verbatim text is always provided (and provide a link to the original message), to avoid reliance on AI summarisation.
