NetDRIVE Workshop to Focus on Sustainable Working Practices in Digital Research Infrastructure

The free one-day workshop will also explore priories and opportunities for early career researchers, as well as responsible research and innovation

HB Allen Centre, Keble College

The NetDRIVE network is inviting all interested communities to a workshop in Oxford on 12 June 2025. The workshop will be held at Keble College's HB Allen Centre.

The Network for sustainable Digital Research Infrastructure Vision and Expertise (NetDRIVE) has been set up to provide a forum for managers, software engineers, academics and others to come together to build a common vision for a sustainable future and to incite a transition to sustainable working practices in the Digital Research Infrastructure communities.

The themes for the Oxford workshop will include:

  • Sustainable working practices in Digital Research Infrastructure communities

  • Priories and opportunities for early career researchers

  • Ethics and Responsible Research and Innovation

  • Future NetDRIVE Community Project funding (scheduled for Autumn 2025)

The workshop will bring together users and stakeholders from across the digital research community and feature plenary presentations and breakout sessions that will allow attendees to form groups to formulate ideas to address questions above. With a focus on early careers, we will explore how we can enhance opportunities for career development and enable research impact with sustainable resource usage.

The NetDRIVE network is especially interested in meeting early career researchers based at the University of Oxford.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Vicky Robinson, Chief Executive at the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs).
