JADE Day to Bring Together Innovative Research in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
JADE Day is a national event for JADE users from across the 20-partner consortium
The Joint Academic Data Science Endeavour (JADE) is an EPSRC funded Tier 2 facility supporting world-leading research in machine learning. This computational hub makes use of the NVIDIA MAXQ Deep Learning System and is comprised of 63 servers, each containing 8 NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPUs linked by NVIDIA's NV link interconnect technology. The JADE facility aims to address the gap between university systems and access to national High performance computing services. This is driving forward innovation in machine learning and molecular dynamics, identifying new applications and insights into research challenges.
The JADE consortium supports over 500 users, including students, Research Software Engineers, Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators working on cutting-edge research in Artificial intelligence and machine learning.
JADE is owned by the University of Oxford. Service partners are the Hartree Centre, where JADE2, the UK's largest AI-focused supercomputer is hosted.
The consortium consists of the The Alan Turing Institute, University of Bath, University of Bristol, Cambridge University, University of Exeter, Imperial College London, Kings College London, Lancaster University, Leeds University, Newcastle University, University of Oxford, Queen Mary University of London, Loughborough University, University of Sheffield, University of Surrey, University of Sussex, University College London, University of Warwick, and the University of York.
JADE Day, Thursday 3 October 2024
JADE Day is a national event for all JADE users from across the 20-partner consortium. The event will take place at Worcester College on Thursday 3 October 2024.
JADE Day will be an opportunity for all users to meet in person. It will give attendees the opportunity to share and discuss their work amongst peers and to discover the new innovative research being carried out by the JADE community.
The event will include talks from Academia, The Hartree Centre and NVIDIA.
JADE Day will also have breakout sessions for students, Research Software Engineers, and Principal investigators to discuss experiences, challenges, efficient ways of working, individual projects, best practice and more.
The event will conclude with a networking session and drinks reception. JADE day will feature a poster competition, with a winner being announced at the drinks reception.
