The Digital Humanities @ Oxford Summer School is your gateway to mastering digital tools, techniques and research methods. From beginner to advanced courses, it’s the perfect opportunity to upskill and connect in a supportive, world-class environment.

In 2025 we will be holding the Summer School at St Anne's College (as well as offering two strands online), allowing you to engage with digital humanities experts on a range of stimulating topics.

The Digital Humanities @ Oxford Summer School is a world-renowned annual training event for students, academics, and professionals, offered both online and in person. Featuring keynote talks from leading experts and interactive workshop strands, with a total of 27.5 classroom hours, the Summer School offers participants a chance to explore a wide range of digital humanities tools, techniques, and methods in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Choose from beginner to advanced courses, with access to all workshop resources via Canvas, our virtual learning platform. In-person attendees can enjoy optional social events including a drinks reception, Oxford walking tour, banquet dinner in a historic Oxford college, photo competition, and academic poster competition—perfect for networking and collaboration.

The professional development benefits are immense, with past attendees reporting greater confidence, improved problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply new methodologies to real-world challenges. Join us to expand your expertise and connect with a global community of digital humanities practitioners.

Anyone may register, there is no application process and we do not select or screen participants, or require any previous qualifications (however you should check your chosen workshop for details of any prior technical knowledge that may be necessary).

Participants follow one workshop strand throughout the week, supplementing their training with up to three expert guest lectures.
