UK Research Data Infrastructures Report Published

Members of the e-Research Centre have been instrumental in the Landscape Report published today by the UK Open Research Data Task Force.

The report reviews the policies, the infrastructure, the standards and the services that support and promote open research data in the UK, evidence of impact of those policies, take-up of services, and the adoption of open data and open science practices.

The Centre is engaged in the Software Sustainability Institute, ELIXIR, FORCE11, the Research Data Alliance and the FAIR initiative, all of which feature as part of the landscape. Centre Director Professor David De Roure, who is a member of the Open Research data task Force, says, “This report provides a fresh look at today’s landscape and is an essential step towards delivering a roadmap for UK research data next year”.

Associate Director (Life, Natural and Biomedial Sciences) Dr Susanna-Assunta Sansone, who is an author of the FAIR principles and a member of the UK Open Research Data Forum, adds: "Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability and Reusability of research data, as well as other digital research assets such as software, publications, workflows, are the pillars of Data Science and at the core of this report".
