The Oxford e-Research Centre is pleased to welcome Karen Coyle from the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative to present a seminar entitled: "Metadata profiles and validation languages"

Abstract

The Semantic Web is often introduced as an infinite data cosmos with unlimited possibilities. In actual practice this is tempered with our need to create bounded metadata for specific purposes, to measure metadata quality, and to understand the metadata of others. To this end work is being done on metadata profiles and validation languages. This talk will be a brief description of the perceived problems and some solutions that are in progress.
